Thistle Timber & Building Supplies is one of the largest independent builders merchants in the central belt of Scotland.

Thistle Timber and Building Supplies was established in 1998 at The Wisp, supplying the construction industry with sawn and dressed timber, aggregates, paving, roofing, flooring, bricks, monoblocks and other building materials. We opened our second branch at The Gyle in October 2006, and we are delighted to announce the opening of our third branch at Dunbar in September 2024.

All branches include a brilliant landscaping centre, which do an impressive job of conveying just what is possible with a bit of imagination, skill, and the use of quality products. The Dunbar display is currently under development.

Whatever you need for DIY or large construction theyve got you covered. Quick and informed service. Its cheaper here than B&Q and all the other mainstream DIY stores so I highly recommend if your need building materials

Just used Thistle for the majority of the supplies I needed to revamp a new build garden and they were fantastic. Competitively priced and good quality materials were provided. Very friendly and skilled delivery drivers. When there was a slight issue with one of the deliveries it was sorted promptly and without fuss. Wouldn't hesitate to use them again.
